"Wagashi inspired by SOU・SOU's original textile design" in Heisei 27; the theme of this year is vegetables. We are going to release pop textile designs in the motif of vegetables for all four season. Of course, we are using seasonal vegetables in ingredients. We hope you enjoy "vegetable wagashi" made by "SOU・SOU × Kameya Yoshinaga".

"Textile Name:Daikon, Kabura"
Daikon, Japanese white radish, is the most delicious in winter,
we can get it all year, though.
I cannot express it in words when I have nicely cooked daikon in oden (vegetables and fish dumplings cooked in hot soy soup) on such a cold day.
Kabura-mushi, a steamed turnip dish, is warming up my body.
That's one of the best part of winter.
Senmaiduke, most famous of Japanese pickles from Kyoto, is made of shogoin-daikon, a round Japanese radish.
Suguki is a kind of kabura.
Come to think of it,
daikon and kabura are must for winter dishes.

January's textile design is "Daikon, Kabura".
These two vegetables are parts of 7 herbs of spring, and we made this wagashi including them, in the image of rice porridge with seven herbs we eat on 7th January. The seven herbs (Japanese parsley, shepherd's purse, cottonweed, chickweed, nipplewort, a turnip, and a Japanese radish) mixed with doumyozi-ko which made from Japanese sticky rice, and kumquat compote covered with white sweetened bean paste is put into it.
Sliced radish and sprinkled nuchima-su, salt from Okinawa, on the top add accents to it in texture and taste.
