"Textile Name:Hagi Matsuri at Nashinoki shrine"
Hagi Matsuri (the Japanese bush clover festival) is held in the time five hundreds of hagi(bush clovers) on the both sides of the approach come to the best time to view. There are votive strips of paper, which Haiku is written on, hanging on red-and-white branches of hagi. Crickets in cage are dedicated to the alter and Japanese traditional performances such as Kyogen and Japanese dance are played as well. Nashinoki shrine is also known for having "Somei's Well", which is one of the three best water of Kyoto.
September's painting is "Hagi Matsuri" at Nashinoki shirine which is located on the east side of Kyoto Imperial Palace. Nashinoki shrine is also called "Hagi no Miya"(the Palace of Hagi). In the middle to the end of September, there are full of people to enjoy viewing hagi flowers on the approach to the shrine. This month's confections from Kyoto are made of white sweetened bean paste and a lot of grape juice. Colored irako (powder made of sticky rice) are sprinkled on them, looking like "hagi flower". This kind of design of wagashi is called "Kobore Hagi" in wagashi world.
