8月のテキスタイルデザインは、トマト。
旬のトマトをふんだんに使った葛まんじゅうを作りました。トマトと相性の良いバジルとレモンを使った錦玉羹を、トマトのペーストを加えた白餡でくるみ、さらにそれをトマト味の葛で包んでで冷やし固めました。甘みの強いフルーツトマトを使用し、甘夏の果汁を加えることで、トマトが苦手な人でも美味しく召し上がって頂ける御菓子に仕上がっています。
August's textile design is based on tomatoes. We made kudzu manju, a kudzu jelly ball with sweet bean paste, for this month, containing a lot of tomatoes at their best season. Kingyokukan, agar-agar and sugar that was melted and chilled, made with basil and lemon which go great with tomatoes, covered by tomato flavored sweetened white bean paste. It is wrapped over again by kudzu jelly flavored with tomato and chilled to solid.
This wagashi is made with fruit tomatoes which have a strong sweetness, and by adding some juice of amanatsu (a sweet Watson pomelo). This makes it much better for everyone even those who does not like tomatoes find it delicious.
