"Flowers of Kyoto / Kaede Kaneko"
With the arrival of March, the temperature is rising and spring is finally upon us in Kyoto.
It was still cold in February, but the day before the start of Risshun, the Setsubun Festival was being held at Yasaka Shrine, so I decided to check it out.
The main attraction was a dance performance by geisha. The shrine grounds were crowded with many people.
When you see maiko and geisha, you're at a lively festival.
I feel like it adds even more glamour.
Looking back at the events I have been to recently, at the Toka Ebisu festival in the new year, maikos were given auspicious bamboo.
In the summer, you can see maiko at the Flower Umbrella Procession and Hassaku orange festivals.
I used to think of maiko as people from a faraway world, but now that I see them so often,
I'm becoming Gradient interested.
With the beautiful spring coming soon, in April and May,To take a capital"Take Kitano"Take the Kamogawa river" will be performed,
I would love to go see it.
Also, I was around gorgeous maikos a few times.
It's becoming a familiar sight at SOU・SOUYasaka Shrine Gion Lion DanceI saw...
At the Summer Gion Festival, Flower Umbrella Procession.
It's a cute lion dance, and it looks like they are heading to Yasaka Shrine with some maiko to perform a dance offering.
If you come across a lion dance, be sure to ask for a head bite!
