"This year's corn festival 2/Mitsuru Yamada"
For the fourth year in a row, I went to the Corn Festival, an annual summer event for the Yamada family held at Kanae Shojuan's Juchosei no Sato.
My son looked at the pamphlet and seemed extremely excited.
I arrived around noon, but all the corn (grilled, boiled, and chilled) at the "Fun Stall" had already been sold out, so unfortunately I couldn't eat it there. (The corn in the picture is the corn that was already paid for and waiting to be grilled.)
We were informed that the "Corn Harvesting Experience" had been postponed because the corn fields would not have grown in time for our visit, so we were unable to participate.
However, since I had previously ordered a Set five corns through the "Online Pre-order Sales of Yatsugatake Fresh Corn," I was able to get at least five corns.
Glad I made Pre-order just in case!
Afterwards, instead of "medetai fishing," we tried our luck at "nanban fishing," fishing for corn mache, tried our luck at the "Corinth Game," and played "kendama" in the old-fashioned play corner.
I wandered around the village drenched in sweat, searching for signs displaying sighting information (QR codes) that could be exchanged for a small gift if I found "Senor Nambataro."
The final activity was feeding the goats, which has nothing to do with corn.
This year's Corn Festival made me think, "Next year, I'll join in right from the morning!"
