"60th Birthday Celebration / Mami Koyama"
To celebrate my father's 60th birthday, my family went on a trip to a hot spring.
It's been at least 10 years since we last went on a hot spring trip as a family...maybe longer.
At my father's request, we headed to Minami Sanriku in Tohoku.
You can see the ocean from your room, and seagulls can be seen nearby.
I wonder if the seagulls came to celebrate my 60th birthday (actually, they just wanted food).
This trip was a gift from my sister and I, so we decided to focus on the thought behind the gift rather than the price, and mainly made it by hand.
My sister gave me a hand-knitted kimono and hat.
From me, I gave him a picture, a commemorative stamp, and a redTextile Trunks,RedTabi Socks(I used the post office's original frame stamp service for the stamps.)
By the way, 60 years old is called "kanreki," so I Melody into why it is called kanreki.
The word kanreki is written as "reki ga kanreki" (returning to one's original place), and the character "kan" apparently means "returning to one's original place."
On the other hand, "reki" refers to the zodiac. In other words, kanreki means "the zodiac has gone through one cycle and is back to normal."
I was thinking, "Doesn't the zodiac cycle take 12 years to complete?" since there are 12 zodiac signs.
The original Chinese zodiac sign is said to be a combination of the ten heavenly stems (甲, 乙, 丙, 丁, 戊, 己, 庚, 信, 壬, 癸) and the twelve earthly branches. (The least common multiple of 10 and 12 is 60, so there are 60 types.)
As shown in the diagram, when you turn 60, your zodiac sign goes full cycle and you return to the zodiac sign of the year you were born, so this age has been thought of as a "year of rebirth" or "the beginning of a second life."
By the way, going through two zodiac cycles makes you 120 years old, which is called "daikanreki" (great 60 years old).
And when it comes to the 60th birthday, we tend to think of giving something red,
The color red is used for the 60th birthday, as it represents the return of the zodiac animal to a baby. It also has the meaning of warding off bad luck and evil spirits.
I've heard that red pants bring good luck, and the red Textile Trunks I gave this time were perfect for a 60th birthday celebration!
My father changed jobs at the age of 59 and is still working energetically, so I hope that he will stay healthy by wearing red items.
SOU・SOU has many other red items, so be sure to use them to help you choose a gift for your 60th birthday celebration!
