About Isemomen Cotton
It is from Ise region, which is blessed with a natural environment such as high-quality soil, water, and climate, "Isemomen Cotton" was used for everyday wear from Edo period to prewar days. The need of Isemomen Cotton has dropped sharply due to changes in the times, and Usui Co., Ltd is the only manufacturer now. Using the machines inherited from the Meiji era, it continue to weave using the same manufacturing method as at that time.
Outstanding touch
Threads that are not strongly twisted and are in a state close to cotton, the fabrics are hardened with natural starch glue and slowly woven with an old machine. As the finished cloth is washed, the glue will come off and the threads will try to return to the state that close to cotton, and it will become softer. This feel is what makes Isemomen Cotton Handkerchief fabric so attractive.
