HONKE OWARIYA SINCE 1465
Founded as a confectioner in Kyoto from the country of Owari in the 6th year of Kansho period. The origin of being a soba restaurant dates from the middle of the Edo period. Soba became popular in Kyoto as it was sought after by Zen Buddhist temples. Owariya has upheld the tradition of meticulous craftsmanship that has evolved alongside Kyoto's history, ensuring that they continue to create products with great care and attention to detail.
