Established in November 2014 by a group of young ikebana Iemotos (family heads), and ikebana heads of next term in Kyoto. It revives and proposes a modern-day version of 'hanatsutsumi', a form of ikebana that was preserved in ikebana tradition from the Edo period. It combines the essence of ikebana, which highlights even the outline of a single flower or leaf, with washi (Japanese paper), which is registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. On 27 November 2014, Ikebana was adopted for the first time at an official event at the 'Kyoto City Cultural Merit Laureate'.
