A traditional fabric from Edo period
Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, located in the northwest of Lake Biwa, is a textile production center blessed with abundant water sources. "Chizimi Cotton" has been handed down for over 200 years since the Edo period as a clothing material suitable for the hot and humid Japanese climate.

The finest textile due to crepe-like texture
Chizimi Cotton is characterized by its smooth and crispy texture. The secret is from the unevenness of the surface called "shibo" (crepe-like texture). The texture created by twisting the threads, arranging the weaves, and embossing creates the finest feel, and it has spread mainly to items like inner such as steteco.

Embossed and Circular
There are two types of chizimi cotton in SOU・ SOU. "Emboss" which looks like a knit fabric by emboss processing, and "circular", which creates uneveness by washing the fabric that uses strong twisted yarn for the weft. It is used properly according to the design and season.
