"Rediscovery / Yuko Osawa"

I returned to Tokyo for the first time in a long time at the beginning of the year.

When I arrived at Kyoto Station, I saw Kyoto Tower and Heian-kyo's Rajomon Gate right in front of me!

I was excited to see such a sudden collaboration with Kyoto.


Rajomon Gate was the southernmost gate to the city of Heian-kyo, located at the entrance to the capital.

It was originally located around the current Karahashi area of Minami Ward,

A 1/10 scale model stands in front of Kyoto Station, the gateway to modern-day Kyoto.

This is my first return to Tokyo since passing the Kyoto Examination Level 2 last year.

Now that I have gained some knowledge, I can see the shrines and scenery in a different light, which is fun.


Shimogamo Shrine is a place where I used to play a lot since I was little.

Now that it is a World Heritage Site, it was bustling with people even during the New Year holidays.

After praying, I strolled around the grounds.

I started to notice places I had passed by before.


This is a "pebbles" that also appears in the national anthem "Kimigayo."

It is believed that small stones gather together and grow over the years to become rocks.

It is said that these stones are inhabited by gods and are placed in shrines all over Japan.




I'm ashamed to say that I had never paid any attention to this before,

A plum tree stands on a vermilion-painted circular bridge over the Mitarai River that runs through the temple grounds.


It is called "Korin 's Plum Blossoms."

It is said to be a successor to the red plum tree that was used as the model for the national treasure "Red Plum and White Plum Screen" by the Edo Era painter Ogata Korin.

The best time to see them is from late February to early March,

I think it should be in full bloom with bright pink flowers right now.

Next time I would like to visit around this time of year.

Since last year, I have been receiving goshuin stamps from the shrines and temples that I have visited.

I also got some New Year's limited edition items at Shimogamo Shrine.

This makes me want the regular version too, but maybe next time.

Another shrine I visited for the first visit of the year was Matsuo Taisha Shrine in Saikyo Ward.

Said to be the oldest shrine in Kyoto, it enshrines the god of sake and brewing.


Even the New Year's pine decorations are made from sake barrels!

Throughout the grounds, there are rows of sake barrels donated by breweries from all over the country.

Since I was there, I also had some sacred sake from a wooden masu and enjoyed the New Year atmosphere.

I was afraid of getting cold from the bottom, so I went wearing the strongest cold weather outerwear, a tanzen Padded.

The weather in Kyoto during the New Year holidays was lovely and almost too warm!

It's been extremely useful in the recent cold snap.

It had been a while since I last visited Kyoto, and it was an exciting time as I made many new discoveries!!

On February 14th, I went to the Odawara Plum Festival in search of spring.
(My purpose is to buy pickled plums.)
Soga Plum Plum Grove overlooks sacred Mount Fuji Pants and is home to approximately 3,500 blossoming plum trees.
This year, the flowers are blooming slowly,
I managed to find a plum tree in bloom and took this photo.

The plum blossoms after my dog have started to bloom, but there's still a long way to go.



There is a stone monument commemorating the 50 most scenic spots in Kanagawa, and you can worship the sacred Fuji Pants.

I would like to say,
Unfortunately, it doesn't show up in the picture because I was focusing on the dog.

Once again, here is Fuji Pants.

■A SUPER dome live show to conclude SUPER EIGHT's 20th anniversary!
Both performances were held at Kyocera Dome Osaka, and the wind was strong and the temperatures were freezing, but Rectangular Sleeve CoatBoa podIt was the best. (It doesn't stand out much in the photo though...) It's not an exaggeration to say that it's really light, fluffy, warm and does a great job. I love it so much that I got it in three colors this season, including different lengths.

■The final day of HeySayJUMP's Dome Tour was "Earl's Haori Rectangular Sleeve Coat" did a great job.
