SOU・SOU Diary /Staff's Diaries
"Bison bruises in Japanese belly / Tomoe Nishimori"
The cold has gradually become loose little by little in front of March.
I can hardly wait for the warm spring climate this time.
The other day, I took a car from Kyoto and crossed the highway
Navel of Japan Nishiwaki-shi Hyogo kenI headed for.
The destination istamaki niime
It is a directly managed shop of Banshu weave (Banjyunn) handmade by Tamaki Shinzo.
Shops where shawls, shirts, pants and other clothing can be bought
Very nice space where the lab was installed! (Originally it is said that it was the site of the dye factory.)
I have been seeing photos and images for a while and it was a place I'd like to visit once.
Banshu weave is a traditional industry mainly in Nishiwaki city, Hyogo prefecture
It is characterised by being a yarn-Yarn-dyed being woven.
Its roots can be traced back more than 200 years, when it Beginning with the bringing back of weaving techniques from Kyoto.
Another reason I wanted to visit tamaki niime was another one,
A friend of mine who was in Era is working here.
On this day I visited the laboratory, I got permission to shoot the laboratory
I saw her with a commentary, a friend.
As soon as you step into the lab, you're enveloped in the rhythmic sounds of the looms working, Weave fabric.
Various looms are lined up, including power looms, rapier looms, and Jacquard loom
It is a spectacular sight to see the fabric being Weave.
Thread sorted by color is placed everywhere and changes.
Why Up and Down that the sight of all those threads gathered together is so cute?
The Weave fabric is washed and then left to dry in a well-ventilated space immediately after leaving the lab.
It was cloudy sky when I looked up, but it is vibrancy not to be defeated by it.
And the things finished one point at a time by taking a lot of light from the sun line up in the shop.
When I picked it up, it felt Gently and smooth to the touch.
I am surprised at its lightness.
It was a short stay, but touched upon the creation of a new brand of banshu weaving
I was reassured by the way she works if she is happy.
By the way, SOU・SOU also carries Yarn-dyed fabrics.
This time some of them are introduced.
Isemomen Cotton Yarn-dyed fabric features beautiful Striped Pattern and checkered patterns created by combining many different colors.
Kurume Kasuri fabric has a unique look with faded patterns that is only possible with yarn Yarn-dyed.
And there is the term "piece-dyed" in contrast to Yarn-dyed.
This is a process in which color is applied to Weave fabric, and prints and Hand-printed are examples of piece-dyed fabrics.
It is possible to express complex patterns and widen the width of the design much more.
By the way, the fabric introduced this time is sold by weight at SOU・SOU Someori stores.
I will cut your length in 10 cm increments
Please do not hesitate to tell us when you come to the shop front!
