SOU・SOU Diary /Staff's Diaries
"To the land of a foreign country / Hisaedu Araku"
It became a nice season for the spring spring sun.
I am sorry I was Arimuto who is in charge of mail magazine.
I have been to India for the first time since I was born!
The airport of the capital Delhi which arrived late at night is very lively, and it makes me forget the fatigue of long flights with euphoria.
The next morning, the first thing I went to was "Lar Killer (Red Fort)" in Delhi. It is a castle of the Mughal Era that is registered as a World Heritage Site.
I was impressed by the beauty of red sandstone, but as I entered the inside I could see the decoration of each building beautifully. A friendly squirrel was cute.
The first meal in India was hotel buffet style. Everything is easy to eat, I feel that vegetables are rich and healthy.
After sightseeing in Delhi for about half a day, I went to Mumbai, India's largest city. Arrived from Delhi by plane about 2 hours.
Even though the temperature is high, Delhi is dry and dry, so it did not feel so hot
Mumbai is by the sea and had a climate similar to that of the summer in Japan. I can not forget the feeling of the wind that enters from the window of the taxi heading for the hotel.
I was impressed by the person walking with luggage on my head, I was curious about the process of making sugar cane juice (fresh and sweetness was just right, it was very tasty!)
The popular fruit juice shop was thriving and the clerk kindly told us very kindly.
And the picture on the bottom right is "Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station" which comes out in the movie "Slumdog · Millionaire". It is an active station with more than 100 years of history, and it is also registered as a World Heritage site.
And I took a boat for about an hour from the Indian gate in Mumbai.
Arriving is "Elephanta Island". This is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
A cute train that moves slowly is full! There are cattle, goats, dogs, and it has a calm atmosphere.
A lot of fruit shops and souvenir shops were lined up.
In Hindu cave temples made in rocky mountains there is a sculpture based on myths about Shiva gods.
It was a very interesting place as we saw wedding ceremonies of Shiva and Pearl Vaty, Shiva of three sides, and so on. It is powerful!
I found a monkey on the way home! It was dignified, the movement was quick, I was looking and it was fun.
King Fisher beer and fish fries that you receive in the scorching sun are the best!
As I was scheduled to return to Japan on the last day of India by afternoon airplane
Without wasting time I went to the museum "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharazi Vats Sangrarajaya" in the morning from morning.
While I was impressed with the Japanese voice guidance, I quickly saw a wide interior. Although it was in a blink of an eye, there were works of Japan, etc. It was a fulfilling hour.
Then, to the Islamic mosque "Mausoleum of Hajry". Even if it was not a Muslim, it was supposed to be included, but my feelings tightened up against sacred air.
What I felt most in India is that people 's faith is closely related to their lives.
Many religions coexist, I think that different people such as eating, clothes, lifestyle habits and way of thinking live in the same country has different ideas, and live better in limited conditions I think there is a technique.
I thought how delicious it is to make it delicious without using meat or fish, even if it is a meal.
Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy even Japanese people like me who came as tourists.
Without any major incidents, it was a happy 4-5 days. We made lots of fun memories, but being in a foreign country meant there was a sense of tension, and we were very grateful when SOU・SOU staff welcomed us back home with a warm welcome.
