Meeting at Mr. Wakisaka's atelier.




I'm deciding on next year's Textile design.

Next year's theme will be the same as this year's: "Flowers...? Maybe. Maybe not."

I think the best of Wakisaka's designs is "something like a flower."
It's something imaginary that doesn't exist in reality, but it looks like a flower.
Do you draw with thought, or do you draw unconsciously?
Either way, the work has its own unique worldview and is simply adorable.
Wakisaka's career as a Textile designer began at Marimekko in Finland, then Jack Larsen in New York, then Wacoal and SOU・SOU in Japan.
At SOU・SOU we would like to establish the world view of "Flowers...? Maybe. Maybe not." in the future.

In parent-child conversation
Parent: What is this picture??
Child: Hmm, maybe flowers?
Parent: "What a strange flower, but so cute! It looks like something you'd see in SOU・SOU haha"

I hope it will turn out like this.
