"Tea Rooms: These and That (81)"

Today is Sunday! This is the corner featuring Terada Yu, the sheltered daughter of a sukiya-style carpenter family!

The other day, a friend asked me what kind of tools I need to start (get familiar with) tea ceremony. I was about to say that anything would be fine, but then I realized that that was a rather unhelpful answer, so I'd like to clarify it again.

⚫︎Tools necessary for tea ⚫︎

[Rice bowl]
Anything you like is fine. It would be great if you could get something with a pattern, size, texture, etc. that you like.

[Tea Scoop scoop]
It's good to have one, but it's not necessary; any spoon that can be used to scoop up matcha will do.

[Tea Whisk whisk)]
I guess I need this after all. Prices vary widely, but if you don't mind, you can get it at a reasonable price.

【Matcha】
This is a must! There are many tea shops in Kyoto, but even if they are not famous, there are many delicious teas.
Please come and find your favorite tea!

Having said all this, I would like to mention that SOU・SOU also has these items.

I continued pasting Isemomen Cotton Handkerchief fabric onto the box for about an hour, maybe two hours.

"I'd love to make it, but I'm clumsy so I can't do it!"

Even though I am self-proclaimed clumsy, I managed to make it, so I think you can make it as long as you have the will!
To tell you the truth, of course I got tired of it along the way, but my dream of making a cute tea box kept me going.
It was so much fun just choosing my favorite Textile, so I made it on impulse!

The clothes for putting tea bowls are "Omusubi Pouch" is a perfect fit!

[A shibuku is a bag for carrying tea utensils such as tea caddies and tea bowls. It can be sewn by hand or made from special old fabric.]

There are some rough parts that I'd recommend squint your eyes when looking at them, but I managed to make it look similar!

Personally, I think that when it comes to enjoying tea on a daily basis, you can do whatever you like without worrying about etiquette.

No one can teach you the correct way to make coffee, but I was interested, so I tried it and wanted to get the equipment too!
I want to make it taste even better!

I would like tea to have that same feeling.

First of all, when spring comes, I'm thinking of taking this Ippuku tea box outside and taking a break.

“和歌山旅行記／猿渡 つぐ海”

先月頃、家族4人で旅行に行ってきました。
行き先は和歌山。

家族旅行は父と母の行きたい場所に行くことが多いのですが、今回も美味しい「食」を求めて湯浅へ。


鎌倉時代に中国の宋で修行を積んだ僧が伝えた「金山寺味噌」から生まれたのが、現在の日本の醤油の始まりと言われているとのこと。
「醤油醸造の発祥の地」ということで、濃い味大好き猿渡家一行は向かいます。


「醤油博物館」というのれんに惹かれてくぐると、醤油醸造に使う道具などがずらり。
耳慣れた文字もあったり、どのように使われているかの説明もあり、歴史を感じます。


湯浅の町並みは伝統的建造物群保存地区となっており、昔ながらの建物がとても良いのですが…。
そんな町並みに実際に暮らしているご近所さんから集まった、貴重な昔の道具たちを展示している地元の資料館にも伺いました。


中でも個人的にはこちらの綿繰り機に目が吸い寄せられてしまいました。


どうやって動くのか想像するだけでも楽しいです。
家族と昔の道具たちに想いを馳せながら資料館の方にもお話を伺うことができ嬉しかったです。

2日目は、紀州南高梅を目当てに南部（みなべ）方面へ。


近所の梅農家さんたちが軒先に自慢の梅を売りに出されている風景はとても新鮮でした。


人が多く写真が撮れずでしたが、ほぼ山登りの斜面に途中で休憩していただいた梅干しを頬張る弟・私・母（私はすっぱくて眉間にシワが寄っておりますが…）

結構な山登りではありましたが、母も私も地下足袋と富士で歩きやすいSOU装で登りきりました。
花見には少し時期が早かったですが、美味しい梅干しを手に入れることができ良い旅になりました。
