"Isemomen Cotton", a traditional craft in Tsu city, Mie prefecture, is used.
Isemomen Cotton has the softest touch and texture like an old cloth. The secret lies behind the loosely twisted threads which are in a cotton-like state, and are fixed together by natural starch glue before being woven by age-old machines. Only one roll (13m) can be woven by a machine each day. When the woven fabric is washed and the glue is removed, the threads attempt to return to a cotton-like state, making it gradually softer. This skin-loving texture is a feature of Isemomen. |
