"Chizimi Cotton" is a unique fabric with wrinkles on the surface, which has excellent hygroscopicity and is refreshing to wear. With the perfect material for summer in Japan, we have created "Jiban" with a Japanese atmosphere.

Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, is known as the city of textiles.
There is a fabric with a history of more than 200 years called "Chizimi". It is a unique fabric with wrinkles on its surface which boasts excellent moisture absorption ability. With a crisp and comfortable texture, it serves as an ideal garment material in the hot, humid Japan. Without fading away, the tradition has been inherited as a local production, with about 90% of Japan's Chizimi cotton being produced in Takashima.

"Shinjo fabric" made in Shinasahi-cho, Takashima City on the northwest side of Lake Biwa began to be woven as a side business of farmers in the winter season at the end of the Edo Era. It is said that it became famous nationwide due to the fashion of "shrink fabric" in the Taisho Era. Currently, in Takashima, a series of processes from yarn to raw fabric, such as bleaching (technique for whitening cloth) and dyeing using the flowing water of the Ado River flowing to Lake Biwa, is possible in the production area.

Takashima Chijimi is made by twisting the weft threads 1.5 times more than normal plain Weave, which creates ridges (vertical wrinkles) that reduce the area that touches the skin, and by Weave the number of Weave with 120 instead of the usual 180, it has more gaps and is more breathable. This allows it to absorb sweat well and dry quickly. Tightly Twisted twisted yarn, which stretches and shrinks, so it doesn't stick to the skin even when you sweat, and it doesn't feel sticky.

In the factory of Takahashi weaving cleanly cleaned a total of more than 20 looms, including German-made thread windings of the 1960s and Nissan's famous Nissan looms, are in operation.

The factory's equipment includes a deep emboss processed technique that uses high-temperature bleaching and pressure through a mold to engrave a 152cm wide fabric into a 110cm wide fabric. This is a technique that is only found here in Japan. Another feature of this factory is that it can process a variety of fabrics, from soft to crisp. The factory wastewater from bleaching the fabric complies with prefectural and city regulations, as well as the ordinance on preventing eutrophication of Lake Biwa that came into effect in July 1981, and the factory is committed to protecting the natural environment, including Lake Biwa.
